Just gorgeous.

"Happy Hawwoween!"

Priddy Farms Pumpkin Patch

This year to get ready for Halloween we had a family outing to the Priddy Farms Pumpkin Patch. There, we rode a hay ride, picked our own pumpkins from the pumpkin patch, and played at the playground. We had so much fun that we decided to make it a yearly tradition!

Headed to the hay ride...

Getting ready to head out to the pumpkin patch...

Jacob was so excited and happy to be there!

Reece riding along...

Lane could barely contain his excitement...

...and Lane's!

Momma and "Baby Wane"...

If you're wondering why we don't take more pictures of our 3 angels together...

Jacob is (barely) holding on to Lane, Lane seems to be falling (but I promise he's not!), and Reece is crying because she wants to be the one to hold Lane. Memories.

Picture Perfect

We had Jen Howell come out to the house to take some newborn pictures of Lane last weekend. Here is a sneak peek of her work.

She spent a lot of time with us and showed much patience with all 3 of our (crazy!) kids. When she left I was convinced that she wasn't able to get any good shots...and then I saw this! I can't wait to see the rest!
Pretty perfect, isn't he?! :)

It's a....BOY!

Well, we did it again. And we done good! October 3 we welcomed our little tie breaker into the family. Lane Powell arrived weighing in at 7 lb. 14 oz. and measuring a whopping 21 in. long.

The c-section went very well. We were wheeled into the operating room at 7:47am and Lane was born at 8:05am. When the doctor saw how big Lane was, she made the comment, "Where do you hide these babies?!" She confirmed to everyone that I wasn't lying when I complained about how much Lane's movements hurt!

Jason and I both felt that this baby would be a boy. On the way to the hospital, I got girl vibes. My doctor and her assistant both guessed girl as well. When we heard the words, "It's a boy!" we were both so thrilled. It's very different to go into a delivery not knowing if you're going to leave with a son or daughter.

Lane has already brought so much joy to our family. Saying that Jacob and Reece love him is a major understatement. When they first walked into the hospital room to meet him, they were giddy with excitement.

Here are some pictures of the big day.

Here are the proud big brother and big sister getting ready to go to the hospital.

Mommy and baby did great!

The proud big brother! Looks like we found a cure for his cameraphobia! :)

Reece's turn to hold "Baby Lane", with Jacob's supervision of course.

Our first family photo!

Jacob crawled into my bed and said, "Don't worry Momma, I keep you safe and make you feel all better." So sweet!

Our sweet baby!

Hopefully I can steal a few minutes later to share some more pictures!

Angel Faces

Sissy is 2!

Reece is officially 2 years old...and she knows it! Yes, she will tell you she is two years old and will try her hardest to hold up two fingers for you. But she has also heard the myth of the "terrible twos," and has decided to make it a truth rather than a myth. She has an attitude and will not hesitate to let you know how she feels about something! In her defense, she has had to learn to stand her ground growing up around a big brother. And no, it has nothing to do with the fact that she has red hair!
But she is also one of the sweetest and smartest babies around (yes, I said baby, and will continue to do so until there is another "baby" in this house!). She loves to give hugs, and if you give her one cheek to kiss she will kiss it, and then turn your head to kiss the other. She loves to take care of babies, and is the first to make sure her baby cousin has his binky! She also speaks in complete sentences (and has for some time now) and reads books to her Dada at bedtime.
To celebrate her birthday, we had a (very last minute!) ice cream party. Here are some pictures!

Reece was REALLY excited! :)

Our ice cream bar....

If homemade ice cream isn't available, only Blue Bell for the Sells family!

Reece enjoying the sundae her brother made for her. Well, really it was M&Ms and gummy bears with a side of vanilla ice cream.

Our beautiful girl!

The beach!

Last month we had a wonderful, relaxing trip to Sandestin. Unfortunately, relaxing meant I totally slacked with my camera. But luckily, our good friend Jessica was there to get some awesome shots.

We had a great time and can't wait to go back!

Zoo trip

Here are some pictures from a recent zoo trip with our good friends Jenny and Georgia (or as Reece says, "Joe-ja and LENNY!")

Looking at the zebras.

The best I could get on a group shot. Notice Jacob is in the picture and he's not crying or a running blur in the corner of the picture. How did I do this you ask? My new strategy- tell him he's not in the picture.

Reece and Georgia checking out the polar bear.

B-F-F

One thing I love about being friends with Georgia, she's a good influence on my kids. She's sitting pretty ready for a picture and my kids are all over the place!

The reason I check my kids every night before I go to bed....

You just never know what you're gonna see when you walk in!

Strawberry Pickin

Recently our play group went strawberry picking at Shelby Farms. It was so fun! Of course, I was a mean mom and strongly discouraged the kids from eating as we went. No, I wasn't worried about bugs or dirt, I was worried about red stained clothes. They still had fun!

Jacob needed a little assistance. He wanted to pick the green ones.

Reece in deep thought....

And this is what I live for....

You make plans, and God tells you why his are better!

This has become our new family motto. As I'm sure you've guessed by now, we are expecting another baby! I am 10 weeks pregnant, so we figured it was about time to share the news.

Here's the official story. One day I realized that I might be pregnant. Jason said nope, no way, he was 100% sure that I wasn't (with his baby at least! Ha!). So I waited a couple more days. Then a couple more days. Then one day while grocery shopping with Reece in Wal Mart the thought occurred to me that I should buy a pregnancy test. Then a shock went through my body as if God said, "BINGO!" and I just knew what it was going to say. I took it immediately when we got home. Now, in the past when I've taken tests, the results have been almost immediate. The box says to wait a few minutes, but I've never had to wait that long. This one took FOR-E-VER! When it finally said positive, I rushed to call Jason to tell him to come home for his lunch break. I called him probably 20 times and never got an answer! After his meeting, he called back and said he would come home. I was in a major state of panic, and he asked what was wrong. I started crying and yelled, "You should know!" and he figured it out. But when he got home, he was so thrilled at the news that I started to feel better.

I'm going to be completely honest, I'm still scared to death! I told Jason that I didn't want to tell anyone the news until I was done freaking out. I'm still waiting for that to happen. We were not planning this at all. We are building a new house which comes with a lot of expenses and started looking into another trip to Disney World this fall. I had the idea that we were done with kids, but Jason didn't want to be so I told him we would discuss it after my 10 year high school reunion (which will probably be right around my due date!). Every night we pray for three things: that God keeps us safe from evil and harm, He keeps us healthy, and that His will is done in our lives. I'm so glad that God has put me in my place and let me know that He has better plans for us than we could ever make for ourselves. I'm also glad He thinks that we have the ability to handle this. But, I guess it's been done before, so we'll make it!

On that note, judging from some of the reactions we've received, I guess having a third baby puts us up in the ranks with the Duggar family. People think we are crazy for having a third child. We've received lots of questions and even some eye rolls. So for those of you wondering: Yes, we know what causes this (obviously); Yes, we also know what prevents this (call me if you want more details on that!); Yes, we have cable; and I am *planning* for this to be the last, but you can see where *planning* has gotten us in the past. :)

On a few fun notes:
-This baby and Reece will have the same age difference as Jacob and Reece do! 2 years and 4 months. You just can not plan something like that!
-I have decided that we are not going to find out the sex of this one until D-day. We already have one of each, and since I'm *planning* for this to be our last, it's one way I can make this last one count!
-Reece has no idea what's going on, but she LOVES babies! Jacob kind of understands, but when asked if he wants a baby brother or sister, he says he wants to be a little sister. Haha!
